Magic swelled with the irrevocable awareness that this
dragon was tied to him. A gut punch delivered by eternity. Fate.
Surviving an unprecedented dragon attack, ex-Captain Talay’dyen Mrage was now on the run from his post. After losing his convoy’s trove en route to the capital, he didn’t have a single desire to return to the army’s lines and continue as he had been. A soldier with a sword. For himself and his remaining men, there were only so many options. Dare to go out on their own and vanish? Or did they dare listen to the mages who’d bravely ridden the two dragons and travel east to find the mysterious king they spoke of?
Would he find peace or imprisonment?
As war crawls closer, friendships will be forged. Struggles
will make Talay’dyen face challenges and cement loyalties. And his expertise
and history may be a deciding factor in fighting the army he’d once served.
