I was asked during an interview how many book covers I’d created over my 17+ year career as a graphic artist. I tried to add up the numerous publishers I’d worked for, the number of authors past and present, and I arrived at a number that astounded me. Creating cover art is not a job...it’s something I absolutely love to do. And being the recipient of several book cover awards, I’m so appreciative of those authors I worked with in order to achieve them, because none of those accolades would have been possible without their imaginations and the book(s) they’ve written. The basis of my job is to exemplify an author's deepest desire to see their words depicted into art, and I strive to do the very best I can to achieve that.
